ASDO have recently supplied Roadbridge Ltd with 160 tonnes of upset forged tie rods, M140/115 and M120/115. ASDO460 tie rods specified by ByrneLooby were up to 29m long with full articulation at connections to piles and capping beams.
A demanding programme meant that the first tie rods had to be delivered within 5 weeks of order which was achieved direct from Dortmund by truck. A detailed installation procedure supplied by ASDO and further developed with the site team allowed smooth installation in sometimes difficult weather conditions!
The tie rods shown below required stressing to ensure minimal deflection of the front wall once surcharge was applied – as both ends of the tie rods are fixed to cast-in anchors special procedures and components are required. ASDO collaborate with specialist site stressing company PHL Hydraulics to achieve this.
