Heavy special bolts / T-head bolts

Upset forging is the industry preferred process route for the manufacture of heavy special bolts for industrial and engineering applications.

Large T-head bolts from M64 to M210 and larger, are produced from material Grade 5.6 to Grade 10.9 and Grade 12.9. These can be manufactured to any length you require.

The stock material is heated to forging temperature and upset forged using specially developed dies.

Upset forging can be used for :

  • T-head bolts
  • Foundation bolts
  • Shaped T-head bolts
  • Eye bolts
  • Hexagon bolts
  • Socket head cap screw bolts

Standard profile T-head bolts conform to:

  • DIN 7992
  • DIN 186 with square neck
  • DIN 188 with double nip
  • DIN 261

The upset forging process produces a bolt of high integrity and excellent grain flow in the transition zone from head to shaft. This gives engineering advantages for use as foundation bolts or anchor bolts for large scale structures and heavy machinery installations.

The forged bolt can be threaded with a rolled thread or as a cut thread.

The majority of Anker Schroeder heavy bolts are produced with a Metric thread, however, Whitworth, UNC and other thread forms can be specified.

The finished bolt can be supplied in the 'as forged' condition, hot dip galvanised or to a customer specification (by arrangement).
